Jio IPO: How UAE Residents Can Apply for Shares
Jio Platforms is preparing to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on October 21, 2026, giving eligible investors an opportunity to apply for shares in one of India’s biggest planned stock market listings.
The company aims to raise up to ₹30,213 crore, approximately Dh11.8 billion, with a price range of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share.
The subscription window is scheduled to close on October 23. UAE-based investors should check their eligibility and prepare the required documents before applying.
Who Can Apply for the Jio Platforms IPO?
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) may apply through eligible investment arrangements.
Living in the UAE alone does not automatically make someone eligible to apply as a retail investor.
Applicants generally need a valid Permanent Account Number (PAN), updated know-your-customer (KYC) details and an NRI demat and trading account.
There is no separate NRI quota, so eligible applicants participate under the applicable investor categories.
Bank Accounts and Application Requirements
Applicants need an eligible Non-Resident External (NRE) or Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) bank account.
An NRE account is generally used for eligible funds that can be transferred abroad, while an NRO account is used to manage income and funds in India, subject to applicable rules.
Investors can check whether their bank or broker supports the ASBA application facility, which blocks the required amount without immediately deducting it.
UPI may be available in certain circumstances, but applicants should confirm eligibility and payment arrangements with their financial institution.
Minimum Investment and Important IPO Dates
At the upper price of ₹1,119 per share, one lot of 12 shares would cost ₹13,428, approximately Dh522.
Retail applications are generally limited to ₹2 lakh, with larger bids falling under the relevant non-institutional investor category.
Applicants should select Jio Platforms in their broker or bank’s IPO section, enter their bid details and complete the required payment authorisation before the deadline.
Allotment is scheduled for October 26, refunds and share credits for October 27, and listing for October 28, 2026.
Dates and terms should be checked against the final issue documents before applying.
