UAE Winter Travel: More Airlines Resume Dubai Flights as Others Remain Suspended

Dubai is preparing for a busy winter travel season as several international airlines gradually restore flights to the emirate.

The return of services is expected to improve travel connections as passenger demand increases during the cooler months.

However, some carriers have delayed their planned resumptions or extended existing suspensions because of regional developments and airspace restrictions.

Travellers are therefore being advised to check their bookings and confirm flight schedules before heading to the airport.

Airlines Planning to Resume Dubai Services

British Airways is scheduled to restart its London Heathrow–Dubai service on November 3, initially operating daily flights.

Lufthansa plans to resume five weekly services from Frankfurt and Munich on November 25.

Eurowings is also scheduled to restart its Berlin–Dubai route on November 25, while Austrian Airlines plans to restore its Vienna connection on December 12.

These planned returns are expected to add more international travel options during the winter season.

Some Airlines Continue to Suspend Flights

Despite the gradual recovery, several airlines have extended their Dubai flight suspensions.

Singapore Airlines has suspended services SQ494 and SQ495 until February 28, 2027, while Cathay Pacific has extended its Dubai suspension until January 31, 2027.

Air Canada has paused its Dubai services until the end of March 2027, and Finnair has suspended Dubai flights for the 2026–27 winter season.

ITA Airways services remain suspended until November 30, with passengers advised to confirm further schedule updates directly with the airline.

UAE Airports Prepare for Higher Winter Demand

UAE airports are increasing capacity ahead of the seasonal travel rush.

Scheduled departing seat capacity reached 7.2 million in October, representing a 23 per cent increase compared with June.

Dubai International Airport accounted for around 4.6 million seats, while Abu Dhabi and Sharjah also recorded significant capacity.

Although more routes are returning, schedules may change at short notice.

Passengers should verify departure times, cancellation notices and rebooking arrangements with their airlines before travelling.
