UAE schools set pre-board timelines; students await CBSE tentative board exam schedule

With Class 10 and 12 students across the UAE waiting for the CBSE 2027 board exam timetable, school principals are advising students and parents not to delay serious preparation while waiting for the official dates.

The tentative CBSE Date Sheet 2027 is expected around late September or October, based on last year’s schedule, while the board examinations are expected to take place in February and March 2027.

UAE schools have already begun planning their internal examinations, with pre-boards scheduled for November and January.

Schools Advise Families to Follow Official CBSE Updates

Bhanu Sharma, principal of Woodlem Park Al Jurf Ajman, advised students and parents to rely on the CBSE’s official website and school notifications for confirmed examination dates.

She said the 2027 board exam timetable is likely to be announced around late September or October 2026 based on the previous year’s schedule.

However, she stressed that families should wait for official confirmation rather than relying on unofficial information.

UAE Schools Set Pre-Board Examination Schedules

Schools across the UAE are moving ahead with their internal examination plans despite the wait for the CBSE timetable.

At Woodlem Park, Class 10 and 12 students will have two rounds of pre-board examinations, scheduled for November and January.

Deepika Thapar Singh, CEO-Principal of Credence High School, said the school's first pre-board examination for Grades 10 and 12 is scheduled for November 10. Practical examinations are expected to begin around the second week of January in line with CBSE guidelines.

Singh noted that the CBSE had released its tentative date sheet on September 24 last year, followed by the final timetable in early December.

CBSE Sample Papers Can Help Students Prepare

School leaders have also highlighted the importance of the latest CBSE sample papers and marking schemes.

Singh said students already have access to these resources and that teachers are using them while preparing pre-board examinations.

She encouraged parents to ensure that students practise the sample papers and carefully study the marking schemes to understand how answers are assessed.

GEMS Our Own Indian School Plans Pre-Boards

At GEMS Our Own Indian School in Dubai, Grade 12 pre-board examinations are scheduled to begin by the end of November, while Grade 10 students will sit for their pre-boards in January.

Principal/CEO Lalitha Suresh said the examinations are designed to identify learning gaps and give students enough time to address them before the final board examinations.

Schools may also conduct a second mock examination when required.

Students Should Use Pre-Boards to Identify Weak Areas

Principals have advised students not to focus only on their pre-board marks. Instead, the examinations should be treated as an opportunity to identify mistakes and areas that require additional preparation.

Suresh recommended completing the first full revision before the pre-boards and then using the results to determine which topics need more attention.

She said students should move from simply completing the syllabus to improving time management, presentation and accuracy after the pre-board examinations.

Analyse Mistakes After Every Exam

Students have also been encouraged to carefully review their answer papers after every practice examination.

Instead of simply checking which answers were incorrect, students should understand why they made the mistake and what they can do to avoid repeating it.

Regular practice with CBSE sample papers and previous question papers can help students become more familiar with examination patterns and improve their answering skills.

Schools Advise Students to Avoid Last-Minute Stress

Singh urged families not to create unnecessary pressure as the board examinations approach.

She advised students to follow a structured study timetable after school rather than leaving preparation until the final weeks.

According to her, CBSE examinations require multiple rounds of revision, making early preparation important.

Limit Phone Use and Focus on Written Practice

Parents have also been advised to help students manage distractions, particularly excessive phone use.

Students should prioritise NCERT books, class notes and notebooks, while online study materials should be used within clearly defined time limits.

Singh also stressed that students should write and practise rather than simply read their study material.

Learn from Model Answers and Toppers' Papers

Students can also benefit from reviewing CBSE model answers and toppers' answer sheets uploaded by the board.

These resources can help students understand how answers should be structured and presented in examinations.

As UAE schools continue their preparations for the 2027 board examinations, principals are encouraging students to start early, practise regularly and use pre-board results to strengthen areas where they need improvement.
