UAE petrol and diesel prices for October 2026 announced
The UAE has announced its fuel prices for October 2026, with petrol and diesel rates set to increase from October 1. The latest revision follows price increases recorded in August and September, after a brief decline in July.
UAE Fuel Prices for October 2026
The new fuel prices will come into effect from October 1, 2026. The rates are:
Super 98 petrol: Dh4.40 per litre, up from Dh3.80 in September
Special 95 petrol: Dh4.28 per litre, up from Dh3.69
E-Plus 91 petrol: Dh4.21 per litre, up from Dh3.61
Diesel: Dh4.80 per litre, up from Dh4.30
The latest rates represent a notable increase across all fuel categories compared with September.
Fuel Prices Rise Again After July Drop
UAE fuel prices had declined in July 2026 after recording four consecutive monthly increases linked to the regional conflict. However, prices began rising again in August and continued their upward movement in September.
Since the outbreak of the Middle East conflict on February 28, retail fuel prices in the UAE have increased significantly, rising by more than 60 per cent before the July reduction.
Regional Conflict Continues to Affect Oil Markets
Developments in the Middle East continue to create uncertainty for global oil markets. The 60-day ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran has expired, while Washington has indicated that it does not intend to extend the agreement. Tehran, meanwhile, has threatened to escalate the conflict.
At the same time, increased attacks by the Houthis on oil infrastructure in the Red Sea are adding further pressure to regional energy markets.
Higher Fuel Costs Could Affect Household Budgets
Changes in UAE fuel prices have a direct impact on household expenses, particularly for motorists who rely on their vehicles for daily commuting and other activities.
Even relatively small increases in the price per litre can add up over the course of a month, requiring families to allocate more of their income towards fuel and transportation costs.
