Dubai motorists and collectors will have an opportunity to bid for distinctive vehicle number plates as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) prepares to hold its 121st open auction on October 24, 2026.

The auction will feature 60 premium plates with two-, three-, four- and five-digit combinations.

The event will take place at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, with doors opening at 2pm.

Registration is open to interested participants who meet the required conditions.

Rare Number Combinations to Feature in the Auction

The upcoming Dubai RTA auction will offer plates carrying codes such as AA, BB, CC, H, U, V, W, X, Y and Z.

Among the highlighted combinations are the two-digit plates BB 80, BB 18 and CC 44.

Buyers will also have a choice of other distinctive numbers across different digit categories.

The selection is expected to attract motorists seeking personalised registration numbers and collectors interested in owning exclusive plates.

How to Register and Participate

People interested in joining the auction can register through the RTA's official channels or visit Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Barsha.

Participants must have a valid Dubai traffic file to take part.

Registration requires a refundable security deposit cheque of Dh25,000 and a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120.

Those who successfully win a plate must also pay 5 per cent value-added tax (VAT) in addition to the winning bid amount.

Payment Rules for Successful Bidders

Successful bidders must complete payment within 10 working days of the auction date to avoid losing their security deposit.

Participants can bid for multiple plates, provided they follow the auction's approved terms and conditions.

Anyone planning to attend should review the registration requirements and payment rules beforehand to avoid delays.

The auction offers buyers an opportunity to secure distinctive vehicle numbers through an official bidding process.
