Driving without a licence? Ajman Police warn of risks, legal consequences

Ajman Police have launched a new awareness campaign highlighting the dangers and legal consequences of driving without a valid driving licence. The initiative aims to improve road safety, encourage compliance with traffic regulations and protect the lives of motorists and other road users.

Organised by the Traffic and Patrols Department, the campaign focuses on educating residents and visitors about the importance of holding the correct driving licence before operating a vehicle.

Ajman Police Highlight Risks of Unlicensed Driving

Colonel Rashid Humaid bin Hindi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ajman Police, said the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to prevent road accidents and protect lives and property.

He warned that driving without a valid licence can result in legal consequences and increase road safety risks. Drivers who have not completed the required training and licensing procedures may lack the necessary skills and knowledge to operate vehicles safely.

Drivers Urged to Check Licence Validity and Category

The campaign also reminds motorists to ensure their driving licences remain valid and are renewed before their expiry dates.

Ajman Police have highlighted the following important precautions:

Check the validity of your driving licence before travelling.

Renew your licence before it expires.

Ensure your licence category matches the vehicle you intend to drive.

Follow approved driving and licensing requirements.

Never allow an unlicensed person to operate your vehicle.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to understand the applicable licensing rules and fulfil all requirements before getting behind the wheel.

Awareness Materials Distributed in Arabic and English

As part of the campaign, Ajman Police are distributing educational materials in both Arabic and English.

These materials explain the risks associated with unlicensed driving and highlight the legal consequences of violating licensing regulations. The initiative aims to reach a wider section of the community and encourage responsible driving behaviour.

Ajman Police Urge Families to Promote Road Safety

Colonel bin Hindi also called on community members to follow traffic regulations and avoid allowing individuals without valid driving licences to use their vehicles.

He emphasised that families have an important role in educating children about the dangers of unlicensed driving and encouraging responsible behaviour.

The campaign reinforces Ajman Police's commitment to improving traffic awareness, reducing accidents and creating safer roads for everyone across the emirate.
