Will it rain in UAE on Diwali? Expected temperature, weather conditions

With the Festival of Lights just around the corner, Indian expats across the UAE are preparing to celebrate Diwali with family and friends. Homes and balconies are being decorated with colourful lights, while traditional lamps are adding to the festive atmosphere.

The pleasant chill in the air is also encouraging residents to plan outdoor activities over the Diwali weekend.

Over the past week, several parts of the UAE have experienced scattered rainfall and occasional hail. This has raised questions among residents about whether the weather could affect their festive plans.

Here's what residents can expect from the UAE weather on Sunday.

Will It Rain in the UAE on Sunday?

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the UAE will experience fair to partly cloudy weather on Sunday. Clouds may appear over some northern and eastern areas, but no rainfall is expected.

Residents planning outdoor celebrations, family gatherings or festive outings can expect mostly sunny conditions across the country.

UAE Temperature Forecast for Sunday

Temperatures are expected to remain warm during the day, with maximum temperatures reaching 38°C in some parts of the UAE.

The forecast temperatures for major cities are:

Abu Dhabi: High of 35°C and low of 25°C.
Dubai: High of 36°C and low of 26°C.
Sharjah: High of 36°C and low of 24°C.

The combination of sunshine and relatively cooler nighttime temperatures is expected to create pleasant conditions for evening activities.

Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds are expected across the country. Winds will occasionally become fresh, with speeds ranging between 10 and 25 km/h and reaching up to 35 km/h.

Residents spending time outdoors should expect occasional breezy conditions, particularly in open areas.

According to the NCM, sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

This is expected to provide generally calm marine conditions for residents planning coastal activities.

Can Residents Plan Outdoor Diwali Celebrations?

With no rainfall forecast and mostly sunny conditions expected, Sunday looks suitable for outdoor Diwali celebrations across the UAE.

Residents can plan family gatherings, festive shopping trips and evening outings without major weather-related disruptions. However, checking the latest NCM updates before heading out is advisable, as weather conditions can change.

Overall, the forecast suggests favourable weather for residents looking forward to celebrating the Festival of Lights across the Emirates.
