No Application Needed: Sharjah Makes Fire Damage Certificates Automatic

Sharjah Introduces Free Service for Fire-Affected Families

Sharjah Civil Defence Authority has introduced a new digital initiative to support families affected by residential fires.

Under the service, residents will automatically receive official fire damage assessment certificates without submitting separate applications or visiting government offices.

The documents will be issued free of charge once firefighting operations have been completed.

The initiative aims to reduce administrative difficulties for families dealing with the consequences of fire incidents.

It also reflects Sharjah's efforts to make essential government services faster and more accessible.

Certificates Delivered Through SMS and Email

The newly introduced service automatically sends approved digital certificates to affected residents through text messages and email.

The document contains the resident's details, the address of the affected property and an assessment of the damage caused by the fire.

Residents only need to provide their Emirates ID number to complete the identification process.

The remaining procedures are handled digitally through an integrated identity verification system.

No additional supporting documents or separate applications are required.

New Initiative Aims to Reduce Stress and Paperwork

The initiative has been designed to make an already difficult situation easier for affected families by removing unnecessary administrative steps.

Following a residential fire, families often need to concentrate on their safety, accommodation and immediate household requirements.

Receiving an official damage certificate automatically can help them avoid additional visits and paperwork during this period.

Major General Yousef Obaid bin Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director-General of Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, highlighted the importance of providing services that respond to residents' needs.

The authority aims to use digital integration to improve the overall customer experience.

Sharjah Continues to Expand Digital Government Services

The free certificate service is part of Sharjah Civil Defence's wider efforts to modernise public services and simplify official procedures.

By delivering important documents directly to residents, the authority hopes to save time and reduce the effort required to complete formalities after emergencies.

Automatic issuance also ensures that families receive official records of property damage at an early stage.

The initiative highlights the growing role of digital technology in improving government services across the UAE.

It also demonstrates Sharjah's commitment to providing practical support to residents during challenging circumstances.
