Indian Passport Services in UAE: Alhind Issues New Advisory After Four Centres Close
Indian passport applicants in the UAE have received updated instructions following the closure of four Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) from October 22, 2026.
Alhind Tours and Travels, the service provider handling consular applications, has confirmed that passport collection will continue at three of the closed locations.
However, application submission services will remain unavailable at all four centres.
The changes affect applicants in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah who need to collect processed passports or submit new applications.
Passport Collection Available at Three Closed Centres
Applicants who selected in-person collection can collect their processed passports from the designated centres in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi; Dubai Investment Park; and Al Majaz, Sharjah.
The fourth closed location, Al Reem in Abu Dhabi, has a separate collection arrangement, with passports available at Al Danah Centre.
These facilities will not accept new applications.
Applicants should confirm their collection location before travelling to avoid unnecessary delays.
12 Indian Consular Centres Continue Operations
Following the closures, 12 Indian Consular Application Centres remain operational across the UAE.
These locations serve applicants in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra, Dubai and the Northern Emirates, including Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
The closures could increase demand at the remaining centres, particularly in Dubai and Sharjah.
Applicants seeking passport renewals, visa services or document attestation should check appointment availability and current service arrangements before visiting.
What Indian Expats Should Do Next
Applicants who opted for courier delivery do not need to visit a collection counter, as their passports will be delivered through the designated service.
Those who selected in-person collection should follow the updated location instructions and carry the necessary documents.
New applicants must use an operational centre for submission and follow the applicable appointment requirements.
Indian residents are advised to monitor official announcements for further changes to passport services and collection procedures across the UAE.
