Dubai Retail announces Skylight Mall, new 1.3 million sqft shopping destination

Dubai residents will soon have another major destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, with Skylight Mall set to open on Al Khail Road in 2027.

Dubai Retail has announced the new super-regional mall, which will add another large-scale retail and lifestyle destination to the emirate’s expanding portfolio.

Skylight Mall to Feature 360+ Stores

Skylight Mall will span approximately 1.3 million square feet of gross leasable area (GLA) and is expected to feature more than 360 stores.

The development will offer a wide range of retail outlets alongside restaurants, entertainment venues and everyday services, creating a destination designed for both daily shopping and weekend visits.

Convenient Location on Al Khail Road

The mall’s location on Al Khail Road is expected to make it easily accessible to residents of several nearby communities.

These include Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT), Jumeirah Islands, The Springs and surrounding neighbourhoods. Its location will also allow visitors from other parts of Dubai to access the destination.

Shopping, Dining and Entertainment Under One Roof

Skylight Mall will combine retail with dining, entertainment and social experiences.

The development will feature contemporary architecture, spacious interiors and interconnected spaces. The design aims to create a seamless experience between shopping areas, restaurants, entertainment venues and social spaces.

Part of Dubai Retail’s Growing Portfolio

Skylight Mall will become part of Dubai Retail’s portfolio of 58 malls and lifestyle destinations across the emirate.

Its portfolio includes destinations such as Palm Jumeirah Mall, Nad Al Sheba Mall, The Outlet Village, Ibn Battuta Mall and Dragon Mart, as well as lifestyle destinations including Bluewaters, JBR and Palm West Beach.

More Shopping Malls Coming to Dubai

Skylight Mall is not the only major retail development planned for Dubai. Several other malls and lifestyle destinations are also in the pipeline as the emirate continues to expand its retail and entertainment offerings.

Dubai Square Mall

Dubai Square Mall is slated to open in 2028 and is expected to be one of the region’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations.

The project is planned to be around three times the size of Downtown Dubai, with an estimated development cost of Dh180 billion.

Dubai South Bay Mall

Dubai South Bay Mall will be developed in the heart of the Dubai South Residential District.

The retail and lifestyle destination will cover approximately 200,000 square feet across the ground, first and rooftop levels. It is also expected to offer views of the lagoon and feature open-air walkways.

Villa Square

Villa Square is planned as a high-end luxury retail destination combining shopping and relaxation.

The project will feature a resort-inspired atmosphere designed to provide visitors with a break from the pace of the city while offering an upscale urban shopping experience.

Dubai’s Retail Landscape Continues to Grow

With Skylight Mall and several other major developments in the pipeline, Dubai’s retail sector continues to expand with a focus on combining shopping, dining, entertainment and lifestyle experiences in large, destination-style developments.
