Rory McIlroy to Return to Dubai for Race to Dubai

Seven-time champion Rory McIlroy is set to return to Dubai for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, where he will attempt to equal Colin Montgomerie's record of eight Race to Dubai titles.

The tournament will be held at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 12 to 15, 2026.

The Northern Irishman currently sits second in the Race to Dubai standings behind American golfer Patrick Reed, who has also confirmed his participation in the Dubai event.

McIlroy Aims for Eighth Race to Dubai Title

McIlroy will enter the season finale with a major target in sight.

Winning the Race to Dubai would see the Northern Irishman claim his eighth Harry Vardon Trophy and draw level with Colin Montgomerie's record in the competition.

The 37-year-old has enjoyed another outstanding season, successfully defending his Masters title at Augusta National in April.

He became only the fourth player to win the Green Jacket in consecutive years after Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods.

McIlroy Closes in on Patrick Reed

McIlroy currently trails Race to Dubai leader Patrick Reed by two points but has made significant progress following last month's BMW PGA Championship.

The four-time major champion finished joint second at Wentworth after carding a final-round 68, strengthening his position ahead of the season finale.

Reed has remained at the top of the standings for much of the season and will also compete in Dubai as he looks to secure the European No. 1 position.

Strong Record at Jumeirah Golf Estates

McIlroy will arrive in Dubai with an impressive record at the DP World Tour Championship.

He has won the tournament three times, lifting the trophy in 2012, 2015 and 2024.

His experience on the Earth Course could prove valuable as he looks to end the season strongly and challenge for another Race to Dubai title.

McIlroy Looks Forward to Return to Dubai

McIlroy has expressed his enthusiasm about returning to Dubai, where he has enjoyed several successful campaigns throughout his career.

The opportunity to reach eight Race to Dubai titles and equal Montgomerie's record would represent another significant achievement in his already decorated career.

Dubai Set for Major Golf Finale

The DP World Tour Championship is set to enter its 18th edition and remains one of Dubai's biggest sporting events.

The tournament will bring together leading players from the Race to Dubai standings for the season finale.

The presence of Patrick Reed alongside McIlroy adds further excitement to the closing event of the campaign.

McIlroy's Dubai Challenge

With Patrick Reed leading the Race to Dubai and McIlroy in second place, the season-ending tournament is set for an exciting finale.

McIlroy's strong record in Dubai and his pursuit of an eighth Race to Dubai crown make his return one of the major storylines ahead of this year's DP World Tour Championship.
