Dubai Opens Winter Camping Season With 600 Camps for 2026–2027

Dubai Expands Winter Camping Options at Al Ruwayyah

Dubai has opened registrations for its 2026–2027 winter camping season at Al Ruwayyah, offering more space and new options for outdoor enthusiasts.

The season will run from November 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027, with the total capacity increasing by around 120 per cent to 600 camps.

UAE nationals can reserve their camping plots through the approved digital booking channels.

The available options include standard plots measuring 400 square metres and larger plots extending up to 800 square metres.

The expansion aims to make winter camping more accessible while creating additional opportunities for families to enjoy outdoor activities.

Caravan Plots and Daily Rental Camps Introduced

This winter season brings two new options for visitors looking for a different camping experience in Dubai.

For the first time, 50 dedicated plots have been set aside for caravans, giving caravan owners a designated place to stay.

The municipality has also introduced 10 fully equipped camps available for daily rental.

These ready-to-use facilities offer an alternative for people who want to enjoy the desert without arranging their own camping equipment and setup.

Seasonal bookings, caravan reservations and daily rental camps are available through separate options, subject to the applicable requirements.

New Spaces for Family Activities and Local Businesses

Al Ruwayyah is also being developed as a winter destination with more activities and community facilities.

Dubai Municipality has allocated 10 spaces for seasonal markets, family gatherings, community programmes and recreational events.

The plans also include opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to provide food, beverages and desert-based activities.

These additions are expected to give campers more things to do while allowing local entrepreneurs to offer services to visitors.

The municipality plans to build on the current improvements with further developments aimed at enhancing the area's appeal in future seasons.

How to Book a Winter Camping Plot in Dubai

UAE nationals can register for the winter camping season through the official Dubai Municipality winter camping portal or the DubaiNow app.

Seasonal camping reservations are available for periods ranging from three to six months.

Campers can arrange and equip their plots after the required permits have been issued and the boundaries have been marked.

All permit holders must follow the approved rules, including installing temporary fencing and using the camps only for family purposes and camping activities.

With more plots, caravan spaces and ready-to-use camps available, the new season offers families additional ways to enjoy Dubai's cooler months.
