UAE Flag Day 2026: Celebrations Marked Across the Country
UAE Flag Day Celebrated Across All Seven Emirates
The United Arab Emirates marked its 14th annual Flag Day on November 3, 2026, with ceremonies and celebrations taking place across all seven emirates.
Government departments, schools, universities, private companies and residents joined the occasion by raising the national flag.
The annual event celebrates the country's unity, identity and shared values.
Citizens and people from different nationalities came together to express their connection with the UAE.
The nationwide celebrations also highlighted the country's journey and achievements since its formation in 1971.
President Leads Flag-Raising Ceremony in Abu Dhabi
One of the main highlights took place at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi, where UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the national flag-raising ceremony.
He was joined by 55 accomplished individuals from different sectors, representing the 55 years of the UAE Union.
The event paid tribute to the country's Founding Fathers, including the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The President also recognised the contribution of the nation's people to its development.
The ceremony reflected the importance of preserving the values and vision behind the establishment of the federation.
Schools, Businesses and Communities Take Part
Flag Day celebrations extended to educational institutions, workplaces and communities throughout the country.
Schools and universities organised activities to help younger generations understand the importance of the national flag and UAE history.
Government authorities and private organisations also marked the occasion with special ceremonies and messages.
The traditional nationwide flag-raising took place at 11am, bringing institutions and residents together at the same moment.
These activities encouraged participation from people of different backgrounds and generations.
National Flag Represents Unity and Shared Values
The UAE flag is more than a national symbol, representing the country's unity, sovereignty and identity.
Its four colours carry important meanings: red represents sacrifice and courage, green symbolises growth and prosperity, white reflects generosity and good deeds, while black stands for strength and resilience.
Introduced in 2013, Flag Day is observed every year on November 3.
The occasion also marks the beginning of a period of national celebrations leading up to Eid Al Etihad on December 2.
It serves as a reminder of the country's history and its continued ambitions for the future.
