Sharjah Launches Three New Bus Routes to Etihad Rail Station

New Bus Services Connect Key Areas to Al Dhaid

Sharjah has introduced three new public bus routes to make it easier for residents and visitors to reach the Etihad Rail station in Al Dhaid.

The initiative, announced by the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), aims to improve connections between local bus services and the UAE's passenger railway network.

The new routes serve Al Madam, Al Sajaa and Sharjah City, giving passengers more options for reaching the station without relying entirely on private vehicles.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public transport links and make journeys across the emirate more convenient.

With the additional services, travellers can plan their journeys using a combination of buses and rail transport.

ER1, ER2 and ER3 Routes Explained

The three services have been introduced under the route numbers ER1, ER2 and ER3, with each connecting a different part of Sharjah to Al Dhaid Etihad Rail Station.

Route ER1 links Al Madam Bus Station with the railway station, while ER2 connects Al Sajaa Bus Station to the same destination.

Route ER3 serves passengers travelling from Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah City to Al Dhaid.

Journey durations vary depending on the route, with the ER2 trip taking approximately 43 minutes and the other services requiring longer travel times.

These connections provide passengers with additional ways to reach the railway network from different parts of the emirate.

ER2 Timetable and Travel Information

The published schedule for ER2 includes 12 daily departures from Al Dhaid Etihad Rail Station towards Al Sajaa Bus Station.

Services begin at 6:40am, with the final departure scheduled for 8:55pm.

The journey takes around 43 minutes, although passengers should check the latest timetable before setting out.

The new connections are intended to make transfers between buses and trains more straightforward for commuters and other travellers.

Checking departure times in advance can help passengers plan connections and avoid unnecessary waiting.

Sharjah Strengthens Public Transport Connections

The launch reflects Sharjah's continued efforts to create a more connected public transport system for residents and visitors.

Linking local bus stations with Etihad Rail gives passengers more flexibility when travelling between different parts of the UAE.

Al Dhaid's railway station provides an important connection to the national passenger rail network, expanding travel options available from Sharjah.

Passengers are advised to confirm route details, operating times and any service updates through the relevant transport authority before travelling.

The new bus services are expected to support easier access to rail transport and improve connectivity across the emirate.
