November weather in UAE: Lower temperatures to drop by up to 6ºC; more foggy mornings

November marks the beginning of cooler weather in the UAE, bringing cloudy skies, beautiful ombre sunsets and pleasant mornings. The change in weather also encourages residents to enjoy more outdoor activities as temperatures gradually decline.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the UAE is expected to experience mild daytime temperatures and cooler nights this month. Maximum and minimum temperatures are forecast to be around 4–6°C lower than in October.

UAE to Experience Cooler Temperatures in November

November is the second transitional period between summer and winter. During this time, the Sun moves towards the south, gradually changing weather conditions across the region.

The UAE will increasingly experience the effects of the Siberian high-pressure system, particularly during the second half of November. This will lead to a further decline in temperatures, with cooler nights expected in mountainous areas and some inland regions.

More Foggy and Misty Mornings Expected

Humidity levels are likely to increase, especially during the early morning hours. Moderate air masses moving across the Arabian Gulf towards the UAE could create favourable conditions for fog and mist, particularly in coastal areas.

Historical weather records highlight frequent fog during November. In 2024, the UAE recorded five misty days during the month.

Winds are expected to blow from the southeast during the morning before shifting towards the west and northwest during the day. Wind speeds may increase occasionally, particularly during storms.

Rainfall and Cloudy Conditions Across the UAE

Weather conditions in November may also bring cloud formation and rainfall as weather systems carrying cold air masses move across the region.

Rainfall could become heavier with the development of cumulus clouds, potentially bringing fresh to strong winds and dusty conditions.

The highest rainfall recorded in November was 211.4mm in Dalma in 2013.

Expected UAE Temperatures, Wind Speeds and Humidity

The NCM has shared the following expected weather averages for November:

Mean temperature: 24°C to 26°C
Mean maximum temperature: 29°C to 32°C
Mean minimum temperature: 19°C to 21°C
Mean wind speed: 10.6 km/hr
Mean relative humidity: 57%

The mean maximum relative humidity is expected to range between 76% and 85%, while the mean minimum relative humidity could remain between 29% and 39%.

Historical records also show that the UAE experienced its highest November temperature of 40.1°C in Sweihan in 2024. The lowest recorded temperature was 4.1°C at Jabal Jais in 2009.

UAE Could Experience a Warmer and Wetter Winter

Despite the expected November temperature drop, UAE residents may experience a warmer and wetter winter this year.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, said temperatures, humidity and rainfall could remain above their usual levels as El Niño influences weather patterns across the region.

He expects the winter season to be relatively warm and humid, with rainfall generally above normal levels. However, he clarified that these seasonal forecasts do not mean flooding is inevitable.

Al Jarwan also expects El Niño to reach its peak during November and December, with its influence potentially continuing until February or March 2027.

El Niño Conditions May Continue Until March 2027

The latest climate outlook indicates a 96% probability of El Niño conditions continuing through March 2027. This could result in temperatures and rainfall exceeding the UAE's seasonal averages.

However, seasonal forecasts indicate broader weather trends rather than exact conditions for individual locations.

With cooler mornings, occasional fog, changing winds and the possibility of rainfall, November signals the gradual arrival of winter across the UAE.
