UAE Leaders Offer Condolences on Death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and several Rulers of the Emirates offered condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai on Tuesday following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed is the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Among those who offered condolences in Zabeel were the Rulers of Sharjah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, as well as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, according to the Emirates News Agency. Crown Princes, senior officials and other members of the ruling families also attended.

Those present recalled Sheikh Ahmed’s public service and contributions to the country and its community since the UAE’s early years. Members of Dubai’s ruling family, including Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received condolences alongside other relatives.

The Dubai Ruler’s Court announced Sheikh Ahmed’s death on Monday, 21 September. It declared 10 days of official mourning in Dubai, with flags at half-mast during that period. The Presidential Court also expressed condolences to Sheikh Mohammed and the Al Maktoum family.
