UAE Delivers Aid to Colombia’s Earthquake-Hit Communities Under $10 Million Relief Package

The UAE has delivered humanitarian assistance to communities affected by Colombia’s August earthquake, as part of a previously announced $10 million emergency aid package.

The UAE and Colombia confirmed the shipment’s arrival on September 20, 2026. The assistance follows the earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10 and forms part of the relief commitment announced by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The shipment includes food, hygiene supplies and cleaning products, selected according to needs identified by Colombian authorities. The UAE purchased the supplies from Paraguay for delivery to affected communities.

Dr. Tareq Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the delivery represented progress in implementing the pledge. He reaffirmed the UAE’s support for Colombia’s recovery and said coordination with Colombian authorities would continue to help assistance reach those most in need.

Colombian Foreign Minister Omar Bula welcomed the shipment and expressed appreciation for the UAE’s support, describing it as a reflection of the countries’ friendship and cooperation. UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
