Dubai Police Arrest 34 People Over 33 Illegal Nurseries
Major Crackdown on Unlicensed Childcare Centres
Dubai Police have arrested 34 people for allegedly operating 33 unlicensed nurseries across the emirate.
Investigations found that some facilities were running from residential buildings that were not designed for childcare services.
Authorities reported concerns about poor hygiene, inadequate safety arrangements and unsuitable premises.
Some operators reportedly attracted families by offering childcare at lower prices than licensed nurseries.
The operations raised serious concerns about children's welfare and the risks associated with unregulated childcare facilities.
Joint Inspections Lead to Multiple Arrests
The action followed investigations and field inspections carried out by Dubai Police alongside Dubai Municipality, the Community Development Authority and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
Authorities received information about suspected illegal childcare operations in different parts of the emirate.
Investigation teams identified the locations, monitored their activities and conducted coordinated inspections.
These operations resulted in the arrest of 34 suspects linked to the 33 facilities.
The campaign forms part of wider efforts to strengthen child protection and address violations involving childcare services.
Police Highlight Risks to Children's Safety
According to Dubai Police, some of the facilities lacked proper hygiene, suitable surroundings and essential safety measures.
Operating without official licences also meant they were outside the regulatory supervision designed to protect children.
Authorities warned that unsuitable premises and insufficient oversight of staff could expose children to neglect or abuse.
Police stressed that every childcare provider must follow the emirate's licensing rules and safety requirements.
Parents have also been urged not to choose a nursery based only on affordable fees.
Parents Asked to Verify Nursery Licences
Dubai Police have advised families to confirm that a nursery holds the required official licence before enrolling their children.
Parents should carefully consider the facility's safety, hygiene and childcare standards rather than focusing only on its cost.
Residents are also encouraged to report suspected unlicensed childcare operations to the authorities.
Suspicious activities can be reported through the Dubai Police call centre on **901**, or through its official smart application.
Authorities have reiterated that children's health, protection and security must remain the priority.
