BOTIM Launches UAE’s First Fintech-Issued Jaywan Prepaid Card

BOTIM has introduced the BOTIM One Jaywan Prepaid Card, becoming the first fintech platform in the UAE to issue a prepaid card under the country’s national Jaywan payment scheme.

Announced on October 28, 2026, the launch aims to expand access to digital payments, particularly among workers who receive their salaries through digital payroll services.

The initial rollout is expected to reach more than 200,000 workers through corporate payroll partnerships and exchange houses.

Jaywan Card Supports Everyday Digital Payments

Jaywan is the UAE’s national card payment scheme, operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE.

It enables consumers to make payments at retail terminals and through online shopping platforms, while domestic transactions are processed through the country’s payment infrastructure.

The scheme is designed to strengthen the UAE’s control over its financial systems and encourage wider adoption of secure digital payment services.

Designed for Workers and Salary Payments

The new prepaid card connects with BOTIM’s regulated Wage Protection System services, allowing participating employers to distribute salaries digitally.

Employees can then use the card for purchases in stores and online.

BOTIM also offers multilingual digital onboarding, with no minimum salary or minimum balance requirement for the service described.

These features aim to make digital financial services more accessible to different workforce communities across the UAE.

Remittances and Other Financial Services

Cardholders can access additional services available through the BOTIM platform, including money transfers to more than 170 international destinations and over 125 dining, travel and lifestyle offers.

The platform also provides fractional gold and silver investments starting from Dh10, alongside credit products for eligible customers.

The company plans to expand the card’s reach through further partnerships, with a longer-term ambition to serve up to four million workers across the UAE.
