UAE transfers 7,479 passengers to Tel Aviv after flydubai flight suspension: GCAA

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has completed the transfer of passengers travelling to Tel Aviv following the temporary suspension of flydubai flights to the destination.

A total of 37 flights were operated from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport since Friday, October 2. The flights carried 7,479 passengers during the transfer operation.

Israeli Airlines Granted Permission to Operate Flights

As part of the measures introduced to provide alternative travel options, the relevant UAE authorities granted permits to Israeli carriers to operate flights between the UAE and Israel.

These services operated alongside flights provided by Etihad Airways, helping accommodate passengers affected by the temporary suspension of regular flydubai services.

Stranded Passengers Returned to Their Destinations

The GCAA said coordination efforts have been completed for passengers whose flights were disrupted and who were left stranded following the suspension.

According to the authority, the affected passengers have now been transferred and have returned to their respective destinations.

The measures were aimed at ensuring passengers had alternative travel options while regular scheduled services were temporarily affected.

The GCAA also confirmed that Etihad Airways continues to operate flights to Tel Aviv according to its scheduled services.

The ongoing Etihad flights are providing passengers with additional travel options between the UAE and Israel during the period of disruption.

Authorities Continue Coordination With Airlines

The GCAA said it remains in coordination with relevant authorities and airlines to support the continuity of air transport services and ensure passenger needs are addressed.

The authority’s efforts are focused on maintaining travel options and facilitating passenger movement amid changes to scheduled flight operations.
