5. Sea Snakes
Several species of sea snake possess highly potent venom.
They inhabit tropical parts of the Indian and Pacific oceans and are excellent swimmers.
Despite their venom, most sea snakes are not naturally aggressive toward humans, and bites are relatively uncommon. Problems are more likely when they are handled, trapped or accidentally caught in fishing equipment.
The safest approach is simply to give them space.
