Sheikh Mohammed Issues Decree Forming Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment Board
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a new decree forming the Board of Directors of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.
Under Decree No. 32 of 2026, Omar Hamad Abdullah Bu Shehab has been appointed chairman of the board, while Mohammed Abdullah Al Tawhidi will serve as vice chairman.
The decree takes effect from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Omar Hamad Abdullah Bu Shehab Appointed Chairman
Omar Hamad Abdullah Bu Shehab will lead the newly formed board as chairman, with Mohammed Abdullah Al Tawhidi serving as vice chairman.
The new leadership structure comes as Dubai continues to strengthen the governance of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment and its role in delivering housing services to eligible beneficiaries.
New Members Join the Board
The decree names several members who will serve alongside the chairman and vice chairman.
They include Nasser Abdullah bin Kharbash, Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Hamdan Khalifa Al Shaer, Jumaa Saeed Khalaf Al Ghaith, Hind Obaid Al Marri and Abdulaziz Mohammed bin Shafar Al Marri.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment will also serve as a member of the board.
Board to Oversee Housing Establishment
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment plays an important role in Dubai's housing sector.
Its responsibilities include providing housing services and solutions to eligible UAE nationals in Dubai.
Under Dubai's housing legislation, the establishment operates through a Board of Directors and an executive body.
The board is the highest authority responsible for overseeing the establishment, managing its affairs and supervising the implementation of its policies, plans and programmes.
Focus on Housing Services and Development
The establishment's framework includes providing suitable housing solutions, supporting family stability and addressing the current and future housing needs of eligible beneficiaries.
The Board of Directors is also responsible for overseeing housing services and developing proposals that can improve the services provided by the establishment.
Decree Takes Effect From Date of Issue
The latest decree became effective from the date it was issued.
It will also be published in the Official Gazette as part of the formal implementation process.
The decision establishes the latest leadership structure for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, with Omar Hamad Abdullah Bu Shehab taking charge as chairman as Dubai continues to develop its housing services and governance framework.
