In a remarkable feat of perseverance and determination, Dubai-based mountaineer Naila Kiani has once again left her mark on the world of mountaineering. On September 21, at 6:15 am UAE time, she successfully reached the summit of Manaslu, marking her ninth triumphant ascent of an 8,000-meter peak.

Naila's achievement is historic, as she becomes the first mountaineer from the UAE to accomplish such an extraordinary feat, all within a relatively brief two-year journey into mountaineering.

Her final ascent push began at 6 pm on September 20, an arduous 12-hour climb through the night, culminating in her reaching the peak this morning. Now, she faces the daunting challenge of descending safely while battling sleep deprivation.

Manaslu, standing at a towering 8,163 meters (26,781 feet) above sea level, poses formidable challenges even for the most experienced mountaineers. Unpredictable weather conditions, treacherous terrain, and avalanche-prone slopes make it a daunting endeavor.

However, Naila's successful journey to the summit of Manaslu underscores her unwavering commitment to excellence and her determination to push the boundaries of the human spirit, all with the support of the Bard Foundation.

Looking ahead to her next chapter, Naila is actively seeking sponsorship support to conquer the final three peaks of her mission, starting in April 2024. Her journey promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.
