UAE: Two groups of Indian expats win $1 million each in Dubai Duty Free draw

During the most recent draw for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and the Finest Surprise held the previous Wednesday, two sets of Indian colleagues also came away with a prize of one million dollars.

Group one, “Team G-68”, is a support group of friends centered in Dubai led by Ettiyanikkal Pailybabu who won the drawing on August 18th with a G-68 ticket. G-68 tickets have been bought consistently for the last four years and have performed a name exchange draw each series. In that time, luck has shown on them, and Pailybabu acquired the winning ticket through an online purchase.

Pailybabu who is of two has plans of “probably going back to Kerala and starting a small business” after receiving his share with the winning Pailybabu dubs “one million dollars”. Pailybabu is going to be apart of a group that splits three million dollars with the equally as lucky 

Gopi Devarajan.ndian resident of 

Gopi Devarajan is a forty-six year old man from Sharjah, and won ticket number 1978 of series 514 on August fourteenth. He is an online ticket buyer and in total won three million dollars.

Devarajan went to school in the city of Chennai, where he fathered two children, along with working as a manager at a hospital. When he was asked how he would spend the money, he said ‘I will surely set aside the money to save for my children’s education'. 'I might also purchase a house and then set up a small business as well.”

In the order of the winning from the DDF, along with the rest of the Indian's who have won the raffle: Pailybabu and Devarajan are the 257th and 258th Indian nationals to ever win 1 million dollars from the raffle. Since 1999, the DDF has recorded Indians as the most prominent purchasers for the raffle tickets.
