Thousands of locals gathered at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) and Expo City, Dubai to help collect and pack vital care packets for the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria.

They sorted and packed vital supplies, including blankets, bedsheets, tea powder, toothpaste, brush, soap, shampoo, canned food, rice and cooking oil.

Apart from packing vital supplies including blankets, shampoo, canned food, bedsheets, toothpaste and brush, a space was set up where students wrote heartwarming messages on postcards to show support to children affected by the disaster.

The ‘Bridges of Giving’ campaign launched by the Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) witnessed an overwhelming participation of volunteers.

From tomorrow, cash and in-kind donations will be   directly collected by the ERC and the partnering UAE humanitarian and charitable organizations over the course of two weeks.

You can contribute by logging on to: http://emiratesrc.ae/relief/. Alternatively, those interested in contributing to the campaign can register via: volunteers.ae.
