The UAE-Russia week commenced in Abu Dhabi on the eve of the milestone visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The occasion that keeps running until October 17 will include an assortment of Emirati and Russian social exercises at the Emirates Palace. 

The debut day saw customary Emirati exhibitions like ayyala; a choice of Emirati and Russian culinary treats including qahwa espresso and Emirati dates and Russian bread and salt; a melodic presentation by Emirati piano player Fatima Al Hashimi; and a grandstand of conventional painstaking work. 

Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, initiated the occasion on Monday. Sergei Kuznetsov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UAE, and various senior authorities went to the opening function. 

Noura Al Kaabi stated: "Social joint efforts and the sharing of our customary legacy with each other are necessary to bringing two societies closer. It gives a solid driving force to the improvement of reciprocal relations and infusing restored quality during the time spent UAE-Russian collaboration. 

"The UAE's association with Russia goes back more than 47 years when our establishing father, the late Sheik Zayed canister Sultan Al Nahyan, established the frameworks of these reciprocal ties. 

"With a huge number of Russian natives dwelling in the UAE, our administration is anxious to fortify our kinship and coordinated effort with Russia. The dispatch of the UAE-Russia Week is a key execution in sharing information in the field of culture between our two nations and it opens open doors for craftsmen and creatives to impart," she included. 

Social relations between the UAE and Russia have grown quickly in the course of recent years. Sharjah was the visitor of respect at the 2019 Moscow International Book Fair, in festivity of its Arab and worldwide social status after it was picked as the World Book Capital. 

Furthermore, the UAE will invite Russia as the Country of Honor for the 30th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2020.
