In the wake of heavy rainfall and waterlogged roads, restaurants and groceries in the UAE are facing a surge in demand for deliveries, leading to delays and challenges for delivery riders. Despite their best efforts, they are struggling to meet the high volume of orders amid adverse weather conditions.

Nazir, the owner of Al Farheen restaurant in Sharjah, describes how their phones have been ringing nonstop since early morning, with customers seeking breakfast and lunch deliveries. However, the adverse weather has caused delays in fulfilling orders, prompting Nazir to urge customers to be patient as they work tirelessly to meet demand.

Similarly, delivery riders from establishments like Calicut restaurant in Al Nahda report slow deliveries due to the challenging weather conditions. Despite being inundated with calls for food deliveries, they are facing difficulties navigating waterlogged roads, leading to delays in reaching customers.

Grocery stores are also grappling with a surge in requests for home deliveries as residents opt to stay indoors. The cashier at Al Madeena Grocery in Al Nahda Dubai acknowledges the overwhelming volume of orders and requests patience from customers as they strive to accommodate everyone amid challenging circumstances.

However, some groceries have been forced to pause their delivery services temporarily due to the unprecedented number of orders. Al Jaddaf grocery in Al Nahda, Sharjah, has made the difficult decision to halt deliveries temporarily until they can manage the surge in demand more effectively.

Overall, restaurants and groceries in the UAE are urging customers to exercise patience and understanding during this time of heightened demand and challenging weather conditions. Despite the delays, they remain committed to serving their customers to the best of their abilities and hope to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
