The recent heavy rains and floods in the UAE have left many people affected, with homes and properties damaged. In response, Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched an initiative on its ‘Jood’ platform to facilitate community contributions towards helping those impacted by the adverse weather conditions.

The initiative, named ‘Tadhamon’ (solidarity) campaign, aims to gather support from private sector entities, businesses, and members of society to assist individuals whose lives have been disrupted by the recent weather events. This effort aligns with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, emphasizing the community's commitment to standing together in times of need.

Under the umbrella of the ‘Committee for Assisting Weather-Affected Citizens in Dubai’, the ‘Tadhamon’ campaign provides a platform for businesses and individuals to contribute towards the relief efforts. The CDA has received numerous requests from entities and individuals eager to extend a helping hand to those affected, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and compassion within the community.

By integrating the initiative into the ‘Jood’ digital platform, the CDA aims to streamline the process of participation and monitoring of the campaign's progress. This digital integration allows for seamless contributions and ensures transparency in the allocation of resources. Real-time updates on support requirements and accomplishments will be readily accessible, providing stakeholders with visibility into the impact of their contributions.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, emphasized the importance of collective action in supporting those in need. The launch of the relief campaign on the ‘Jood’ platform underscores the commitment to facilitating financial assistance for individuals affected by the adverse weather conditions. Contributions received will be directed towards assisting registered individuals with the CDA, as well as those affiliated with charities, institutions, and participating entities on the ‘Jood’ platform.

In times of crisis, the solidarity and generosity of the community play a crucial role in providing relief and support to those affected. Through initiatives like the ‘Tadhamon’ campaign, Dubai’s community demonstrates its resilience and compassion, standing united in the face of challenges and striving to make a positive difference in the lives of those impacted by natural disasters.
