Hezbollah Rockets Hit Israel

Hezbollah rocket attack,

The Hezbollah militant group launched over 50 rockets at military posts in northern Israel as retaliation for an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon that killed five senior Hezbollah fighters. This marked one of the most intense bombardments since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. Hezbollah claimed the attack was a response to ease pressure on Gaza, where Israel's offensive had resulted in significant casualties. The group announced a record number of statements detailing their attacks in a single day. A four-day cease-fire was scheduled for Gaza, with Hezbollah leaders emphasizing the need to stop Israeli aggression in both Gaza and the Lebanon-Israel border. The airstrikes in Lebanon led to the death of five Hezbollah fighters, including a prominent member, Abbas Raad. The group mourned the loss and stated that such attacks would continue until Israel abides by a truce. Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian to discuss ongoing conflicts and efforts to halt Israeli aggression. The situation remains tense, with warnings of the war spiraling out of control if a truce is not sustained. In a separate development, the US military reported that one of its warships in the Red Sea intercepted bomb-carrying drones launched by Houthi rebels in Yemen. The USS Thomas Hudner shot down the drones without sustaining damage or injuries.
