The recently inaugurated BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi showcased the spirit of inclusivity and harmony by hosting its first-ever Ramadan event, aptly named 'Omsiyyat'. This landmark occasion brought together a diverse array of individuals from various religious and cultural backgrounds for an evening of spiritual reflection, dialogue, and community bonding.

Set against the backdrop of the magnificent architectural marvel of the BAPS Hindu Mandir, situated in Abu Mureikha off the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway, the event was a testament to the UAE's commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue and understanding.

Attendees included Emirati ministers, a rabbi, a vicar, representatives from the Bohra and Sikh communities, heads of government departments, ambassadors, diplomats, community leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and overseas guests. Notable figures such as Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, graced the occasion with their presence.

Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the strong bond between India and the UAE, rooted in common interests and values. He commended the BAPS Sanstha for hosting an interfaith gathering during the holy month of Ramadan, highlighting the importance of peace, tolerance, human fraternity, and interfaith harmony in the UAE.

Pujya Swami Brahmaviharidas, who spearheaded the BAPS temple project, expressed gratitude to UAE leaders and ministers for their unwavering support. He underscored the significance of Ramadan as a time for self-discipline, introspection, gratitude, generosity, and friendship.

The event featured engaging discussions aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the multicultural fabric of the UAE. Traditional cultural performances added vibrancy to the evening, further enhancing the sense of unity and camaraderie among attendees.

A highlight of the evening was the sumptuous pure vegetarian food prepared by BAPS volunteers, reflecting the organization's commitment to serving the community and promoting values of compassion and inclusivity.
