Eid Al Fitr, the joyous Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan, is eagerly anticipated across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As Muslims bid farewell to a month of fasting and spiritual reflection, preparations are underway for celebrations filled with fun, food, family, and friends.

The commencement of Eid festivities hinges on the sighting of the crescent moon, traditionally observed by the UAE's Moon sighting committee. Scheduled to convene on Monday evening, the committee's decision will determine whether Eid will be celebrated on April 9 or April 10.

Central to the Eid celebrations is the special congregational prayer held shortly after sunrise on the first day of Eid. Mosques and musallahs, open-air places of worship, welcome worshippers adorned in their finest attire to participate in this significant prayer.

In Dubai, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has announced that the Eid prayer will be conducted at 6:20 am. Similarly, the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah has provided prayer timings across various regions:

- Sharjah city and Hamriyah: 6:17 am
- Al Dhaid and Al Bataeh: 6:16 am
- Al Madam and Mleiha: 6:16 am
- Eastern region: 6:14 am

In Abu Dhabi, prayer timings typically follow those of Dubai, with the Eid prayer scheduled for 6:22 am in the city and 6:15 am in Al Ain. Ajman and Umm Al Quwain generally observe timings similar to Sharjah, at 6:17 am, while Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah's timings are slightly behind, at 6:15 am.

Muslims are encouraged to head to the mosques promptly after offering the Fajr prayer to participate in the special Eid prayer. This congregational prayer comprises two units (raka’ah), with the Imam leading worshippers in reciting multiple takbirs before and during the prayer. Following the prayer, the Imam delivers a two-part sermon, which attendees are expected to listen to attentively before exchanging heartfelt Eid greetings with loved ones.

As the UAE prepares to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, the air is filled with anticipation and excitement. Families eagerly await the opportunity to come together, share joyous moments, and partake in the blessings of the occasion. From the bustling streets to the serene surroundings of mosques, the spirit of Eid permeates every corner of the Emirates, fostering a sense of unity, love, and community among its residents.

In conclusion, Eid Al Fitr in the UAE is a time of spiritual renewal, gratitude, and celebration. As worshippers gather to offer prayers and exchange greetings, the true essence of Eid shines through, bringing people closer and reinforcing the bonds of faith and camaraderie that define the spirit of the festival.
