The Kingdom’s Supreme Council said that any person who sees the crescent moon, either with binoculars or with the naked eye, contact the appropriate authorities at their nearest agency.

The Saudi Press Agency report said: “The Supreme Court hopes that whoever has the ability to show interest in this matter, join the committees formed in the regions for this purpose”.

The sighting of the moon will determine the date of holidays in the Kingdom and the length of break for offices and workplaces across the Kingdom.

Should the crescent moon be spotted on Sunday, June 18 the Arafat and Eid holidays will begin on Tuesday, June 27.

However, if there is no moon sighting it will mean Arafat Day and Eid breaks will begin on June 28.
