As part of RTA's 'We Bring You Closer' campaign, phone booths at Dubai Metro stations allow commuters to make free international calls during Ramadan. These initiatives aim to strengthen familial bonds and foster community engagement.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Dubai Metro stations have become more than just transit points; they serve as hubs for connecting commuters with their loved ones across the globe. Thanks to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) 'We Bring You Closer' campaign, special phone booths have been installed at four key stations: Al Ghubaiba, Union, and Jebel Ali Metro stations. These booths offer commuters the opportunity to make free international calls, facilitating connections with family and friends, especially significant for the millions of expatriates living away from their loved ones during this sacred period.

The 'We Bring You Closer' initiative underscores RTA's commitment to enhancing community engagement and promoting inclusivity. Throughout Ramadan, RTA has rolled out a series of humanitarian and community-driven initiatives under the overarching theme of “Journey of Good”. Collaborating with volunteers from RTA and Keolis, the operator of Dubai Metro and Tram, these initiatives encompass a wide range of activities aimed at fostering teamwork and supporting the diverse community of Dubai.

One notable initiative is the Modes of Good initiative, an extension of RTA’s annual Meals On Wheels campaign. This initiative mobilizes RTA staff and volunteers to prepare and distribute 8,000 meals during Ramadan, utilizing various modes of transport such as buses and Abras. These meals are distributed to bus drivers, delivery bike riders, truck drivers, Abra riders, and workers in diverse sectors, fostering a sense of solidarity and community spirit.

Additionally, RTA, in collaboration with charitable societies like Beit Al Khair Society, is launching the Ramadan Tent Project. This initiative aims to provide 2000 Iftar meals to fasting individuals by setting up dedicated tents. Such efforts not only cater to the nutritional needs of the community but also embody the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines Ramadan.

Furthermore, internal initiatives targeting RTA employees are also in place to promote well-being and social cohesion. The 'How to Prepare for Ramadan' initiative consists of remote workshops designed to educate employees about healthy fasting habits and the importance of a balanced diet. Moreover, RTA organizes Ramadan Bazaars and Iftar Gatherings to bring together staff members and leaders, fostering a culture of tolerance and social interaction within the organization.

In summary, RTA's initiatives during Ramadan exemplify its dedication to serving the community and promoting unity among Dubai's diverse population. By offering free international calls, facilitating meal distribution, and organizing various community-driven activities, RTA aims to make Ramadan a time of connection, compassion, and collective well-being for all residents of Dubai.
