"Oppenheimer" follows closely with eight nominations, including Best Picture (Drama) and nods for actors Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt. The revamped Golden Globes, now a for-profit endeavor, announced nominations for its January awards show with a more diverse voting body.

The nominations also recognize Yorgos Lanthimos' "Poor Things" and Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon," both receiving seven nominations each. "Poor Things" is recognized for its actors Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Tony McNamara for screenplay, and Jerskin Fendrix for score. "Killers of the Flower Moon" earns nods for Scorsese, direction, co-writing the screenplay with Eric Roth, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, and Robert De Niro.

"Barbie" ties for the second-most nominations in Golden Globes history, joining "Cabaret" from 1972. It secures a prominent position with a total of nine nominations, emphasizing its impact and success.

In television, "Succession" takes the lead with nine nominations, including recognition for series stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, and Kieran Culkin. The awards also introduce a new category recognizing cinematic and box office achievement, acknowledging the importance of both critical acclaim and commercial success.

Surprising nominations include Jennifer Lawrence for her role in the R-rated comedy "No Hard Feelings" in the Best Performance by a Female Actor (Musical or Comedy) category. Other nominees in the category include Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Fantasia Barrino, Natalie Portman, and Alma Pöysti.

Netflix emerges as the platform with the most nominations, securing a total of 13 across films like "Maestro," "May December," and "Rustin." Warner Bros. follows closely with 12 nominations for films such as "Barbie," "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," and "The Color Purple."

The 81st Golden Globe Awards, scheduled for January 7, will be the first major broadcast of awards season, with a new home on CBS. The nominations reflect a diverse array of films and performances, showcasing the range of talent and storytelling in the entertainment industry.
