Europe flight deals starting at Dh980: 5-day vacation in the UAE for Eid Al Adha
Vacation time is clearly being enjoyed by locals, as reservations were made just one day before the vacation began.

During the next five-day break to mark the Islamic festival Eid Al Adha, residents of the United Arab Emirates can get return flights to Italy for Dh980, France for Dh1,135 and Spain for Dh1,308. According to a 'explore everywhere' search, these were the most affordable deals found on the travel platform Skyscanner.

Astronomical predictions place the celebration between Sunday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 19. There are a total of five days off to celebrate the festival, including the weekend (beginning on June 15). When the moon is visible at certain times throughout the Islamic Hijri calendar year, the months begin and end on that day.

The most popular departure date for UAE residents, according to Skyscanner's data, is June 14. The break starts in exactly one day from now. Nearly 40% of UAE vacationers are seeking trips lasting two to four weeks, while 33% are seeking trips lasting three to five weeks or longer. According to the travel agency, 14% are considering making a one-month vacation reservation.

The travel agency is witnessing a "dynamic shift" in holiday preferences among UAE residents for the upcoming break, according to travel expert Ayoub El Mamoun.

He divulged the five most popular, recently popularized locations:

Manhattan (525%)
Mumbai (33%).
In Athens, 257% of the time
Dublin accounted for 22%
Mahé (205%).
"The surge in popularity of these five trending destinations showcases the adventurous spirit of UAE travellers, from the vibrant streets of New York to the serene shores of Malé," he said.

The five most popular cities for searches are Manchester, London, Athens, and New York City.

Not only do most UAE companies provide their employees with 30 days of paid vacation each year, but citizens will also have at least 13 days off for public holidays this year. Khaleej Times has heard from locals who say this allows them to take three vacations every year. It is common practice for expats to take advantage of public holidays and yearly leaves to visit their home countries.

This year, citizens of the United Arab Emirates will enjoy longer weekends thanks to four of the seven official holidays. Following the observance of New Year's Eve and the Islamic festival of Eid Al Fitr in 2024, the country will provide vacations in June for Eid Al Adha, July for the Islamic New Year, September for the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and December for UAE National Day.
