As unstable weather conditions grip the United Arab Emirates (UAE), authorities in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah have taken proactive measures to ensure public safety by closing all public parks and beaches in the respective emirates. The closures come in response to forecasts predicting worsening weather conditions until Wednesday, April 17, with heavy rains, lightning, thunder, and a risk of flooding in various regions.

In Abu Dhabi, the closure of parks will commence on Tuesday, April 16, and continue until weather conditions improve, prioritizing the safety of residents and visitors alike. Similarly, in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, parks have already been closed from April 15, with plans to reopen once weather conditions become more favorable.

The decision to close parks and beaches aligns with advisories issued by the UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), which highlights significant fluctuations in weather conditions across the country. From Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon, unstable weather conditions are expected to develop in Western areas before gradually moving towards Abu Dhabi, Northern, and Eastern regions.

Residents can anticipate an increase in convective clouds, leading to rainfall of varying intensities, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and the possibility of hail in some areas. Additionally, strong winds are forecasted, which may reduce horizontal visibility, posing further risks to outdoor activities.

Furthermore, another wave of unsettled weather is anticipated from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning, affecting scattered regions across the country. These weather patterns underscore the importance of precautionary measures and adherence to safety guidelines to minimize risks to public safety.

By closing public parks and beaches, authorities aim to mitigate potential hazards posed by adverse weather conditions, ensuring the well-being of community members. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates and follow official directives issued by local authorities to stay safe during this period of unstable weather.

As the UAE navigates through these challenging weather conditions, collaboration between government agencies and the public is essential to effectively manage risks and ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors. By taking proactive measures and remaining vigilant, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to prioritizing public safety and well-being in the face of adverse weather events.
