Dubai awards Golden Visa to some private sector educators on World Teacher's Day
Dubai has awarded 10-year Golden Visas to a select group of private-sector educators in recognition of their exceptional contributions to education and their role in shaping the future of young learners.
The announcement was made on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day and follows directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE.
Golden Visas Recognise Outstanding Educators
The residency permits have been granted to educators who have demonstrated outstanding performance and made a significant impact across early childhood centres, schools and higher education institutions.
The initiative is part of Dubai’s existing Golden Visa programme for exceptional teachers and educators working in private educational institutions. The programme was first launched on October 5, 2024, to recognise professionals who contribute significantly to the emirate’s education sector.
Supporting Dubai’s Education Strategy
The initiative supports Education 33 (E33), Dubai’s strategy aimed at strengthening the emirate’s education system and attracting and retaining talented educators.
By recognising high-performing teachers, the programme seeks to encourage educational excellence, enhance students’ learning experiences and strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading regional and international education hub.
More Than 835 Educators Have Applied
Since the initiative was introduced, more than 835 educators have submitted applications for consideration.
Applicants undergo a comprehensive professional assessment designed to ensure a fair and transparent selection process. The evaluation considers several factors, including:
-
Academic qualifications and professional achievements
-
Contributions to the education sector and wider community
-
Positive feedback from parents and students
-
Improvements in educational quality
-
Impact on student learning and outcomes
-
Recognition within the education community
Who Is Eligible?
The Golden Visa initiative is open to educators working in private early childhood centres, schools and higher education institutions.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate outstanding academic achievements or creative contributions to education. They should also have a proven track record of improving educational quality and making a measurable difference to students.
Contributions that improve academic progress, student outcomes and the attainment of accredited qualifications are also considered during the assessment.
The latest Golden Visa awards highlight Dubai’s continued efforts to recognise educators whose dedication and expertise help shape stronger learning experiences and support the emirate’s long-term education ambitions.
