Abu Dhabi Adds 800 Taxis to Zayed International Airport as Travel Demand Rises
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital has added 800 taxis to Zayed International Airport to offer more transport options to arriving passengers and meet rising demand.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve transportation links between the airport and destinations across Abu Dhabi.
800 New Taxis Added to the Transport Network
The Integrated Transport Centre, also known as Abu Dhabi Mobility, has worked alongside Abu Dhabi Airports to increase the number of taxis servicing the airport.
Out of the 800 additional vehicles, 500 are luxury taxis that have been allocated exclusively for airport passengers.
The expansion is expected to improve taxi availability, particularly during periods when passenger numbers increase.
The addition is expected to give travellers arriving at Zayed International Airport more options for continuing their journeys after landing.
300 More Taxis Added to the Abu Dhabi Network
Alongside the airport-focused expansion, another 300 taxis have been added to the wider network across Abu Dhabi city.
The additional vehicles are expected to increase transportation capacity and support passengers travelling to and from the airport during busy periods.
Making Airport Transfers Easier for Passengers
The latest taxi expansion is expected to make it easier for passengers to find transportation after arriving in the capital.
Standard and premium taxis are available directly outside the arrivals hall at Zayed International Airport.
Passengers can also use designated areas for ride-hailing services and pre-booked transportation.
The additional taxi capacity could provide greater flexibility during periods of heavy passenger traffic, when demand for airport transfers can rise significantly.
More Transport Options for Visitors and Residents
For international visitors and residents, convenient ground transportation is an important part of the airport experience.
The larger taxi fleet is expected to improve access to different areas of Abu Dhabi after passengers complete their arrival procedures.
Abu Dhabi's wider taxi network also includes low-emission vehicles as the emirate continues to develop more sustainable transportation options.
Abu Dhabi Continues to Boost Airport Connectivity
The addition of 800 taxis highlights Abu Dhabi's continued efforts to strengthen transportation services around its major aviation hub.
With 500 luxury taxis allocated for airport passengers and 300 additional taxis introduced across the wider city network, the expansion is expected to provide greater flexibility for travellers while supporting smoother transfers across the capital.
