Aaron Rai Returns to Abu Dhabi to Defend Championship Title

English golfing sensation Aaron Rai is set to return to the UAE in November to defend his Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship title.

Fans will be eager to see him in action following an outstanding year in which he secured his first major championship victory.

Aaron Rai Returns to Yas Links Following an Unbelievable Year

Rai enjoyed a memorable victory at Yas Links last November, defeating fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood in a dramatic play-off to claim his second Rolex Series title.

Since then, the 31-year-old has continued to make headlines on the international stage.

In May 2026, he won the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, becoming the first Englishman in a century to lift the prestigious Wanamaker Trophy.

Following the four major championships, Rai received the inaugural Rory McIlroy Award after earning the most Race to Dubai points of any DP World Tour member across the Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and The Open.

His performances included a tied 11th-place finish at the US Open, 48th place at the Masters and a tied 79th finish at The Open, adding to an impressive season.

Rai Targets Another Abu Dhabi Championship Victory

Rai has expressed his excitement about returning to Abu Dhabi, where he has fond memories of his previous triumph at Yas Links.
