Excerpts from our communique with Singh:

With stars like Badshah and Bruno Mars performing on NYE here, in case you had a chance, who would you want to see?
Any day, Bruno Mars. He's a legend, and on any other level. Why I like Bruno Mars is that he's no longer a rap, blues or an R&B artist, he is a business pop singer. I love his music, his vocals, his lyrics. If you question me who I need to collaborate with internationally, it might be him!

What is it approximately an target audience that places you off?
Nothing. They continually love me. I've by no means had any revel in like that. They all love me and deliver me a massive reaction for my songs.

Punjabi fusion track has turn out to be very famous over a period of time. When did you first note that it was becoming popular and which you desired to be a part of it?
I grew up taking note of Malkit Singh and Apache Indian, that become an era of singles and personal albums. Then Bollywood took over and they began making commercial songs. Also, masses of global songs became famous, humans started listening to Akon, Enrique Iglesias and extra. So I discovered that if we deliver people global song, with desi lyrics, they're going to love it. And they appreciated it!

Who are your favorites in Bollywood? Do you have any favored singers or songs?

You have acted in a pair of films as well. What are your plans for tune and films within the future?
For 2020, I actually have planned loads of singles. I need to convey the unbiased track scene to every other level. I'm giving songs in movies as well, but 2020 is going to be huge for my massive singles. We are going to release that in February. So we're taking pictures movies lower back to lower back. We are going to provide extra than 7-8 singles, plus Bollywood songs as well. So, 2020 goes to be massive!

We saw the behind-the-scenes shoot from Makhna, and it appears like a whole lot of work. You went to Cuba. What can you tell us about it?
That became crazy. My team - my crew - it took us eight months (to complete the shoot). We did not have Internet, we did not have a good deal stuff over there. We decided to get a Latin American director considering the fact that we were capturing there so it wouldn't be that a whole lot trouble. We went over there and it changed into some other level, it became crazy, human beings are so humble and amazing. It was a hard job, however we did it, and those cherished it.

2019 has been a important year for you. You received the Best Music Director Award at IIFA. How do you feel when you appearance again at the final 12 months?
2019 became amazing. Very creative, very supportive and very positive. IIFA is a huge issue, you know? I were given my first IIFA, and I changed into so happy!

What's your largest takeaway from 2019? It could be from your songs, or your relationship with human beings within the industry...
I assume the best factor in any relationship is to hold it clear and transparent. If you want to mention something, say it directly up.

What are your thoughts on social media, on that you are quite active?
I did not start Instagram for some time due to the fact I thought it turned into very personal, it's now not for an artist. My virtual team stated if I wanted to connect to the youth, I must be on Instagram. Now, I'm loving Instagram! It's crazy, you could share each hour, every day of your lifestyles with your lovers.

Is there anyone whose account you stalk at night when you can't sleep?
No, I just watch Netflix!

You got here returned from a bit of a break for your career, and lately you had been additionally in the information because people felt that lyrics to a certain tune turned into a chunk controversial. So how do you deal with all this. How do you react to these things?
I don't know why humans are thinking the lyrics of my songs. I in no way supposed to hurt anybody. But you know, you cannot make every body happy. And I love my critics. I love my haters as well. Stay satisfied, live positive!
