UAE Ramadan 2027 Dates: Expected Eid Holidays and Long Weekend Plans

The UAE’s Ramadan and Eid holidays for 2027 are attracting attention as residents begin planning family gatherings, travel and annual leave.

According to astronomical predictions, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on February 8, 2027.

However, the official start date will depend on the sighting of the crescent moon.

Ramadan is observed through fasting from dawn until sunset, alongside prayer, charity and community activities.

The month may last either 29 or 30 days, depending on the lunar calendar.

When Will Eid Al Fitr 2027 Begin in the UAE?

Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is expected to fall around March 9 or March 10, 2027.

The exact date will depend on the official sighting of the crescent moon marking the beginning of Shawwal.

If Ramadan lasts 29 days, Eid could begin on March 9, while a 30-day month could move the celebration to March 10.

UAE employees are entitled to public holidays for Eid Al Fitr under the country's holiday regulations.

The final holiday schedule will be confirmed by the relevant authorities.

Could UAE Residents Enjoy a Six-Day Eid Break?

Residents may have the opportunity to enjoy an extended break during Eid Al Fitr in 2027.

If Ramadan lasts 30 days, the Eid holiday could run from March 9 to March 12.

Combined with the following Saturday and Sunday weekend, this could provide up to six consecutive days off for employees whose regular weekend falls on Saturday and Sunday.

However, the potential break depends on the confirmed holiday dates and individual work schedules.

Residents should wait for official announcements before making travel bookings.

Eid Al Adha 2027: Expected UAE Public Holiday Dates

Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha are expected to bring another major holiday period to the UAE in May 2027.

Astronomical estimates suggest the break could fall between May 15 and May 18, covering Arafah Day and the three days of Eid Al Adha.

The occasion is significant for Muslims and is traditionally marked by prayers, family gatherings and charitable activities.

As with other Islamic holidays, the dates remain tentative until the crescent moon is sighted and the UAE authorities issue an official announcement.
