Fakhar Zaman, Jason Roy join UAE's ILT20
The league will be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah between January 11 to February 9, 2025 for a period of 30 days. This will be the third season for the T20 cricket league.
All those three franchises have got new players today as Dp World Capture the Pulse International League T20s Season 3 will be action packed with a lot of cricket excitement.
This summer transfer window began in June and remained timeless until Sunday, 15th September, 2019.
The next realization of the IPL style T20 league will commence from January 11 to February 9, 2025 in the cities of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Some of the expected T20 superstars in Season 3 will include Jason Roy (Sharjah Warriorz), Fakhar Zaman (Desert Vipers), Shai Hope (Dubai Capitals), Lockie Ferguson (Desert Vipers), Roston Chase (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Matthew Wade (Sharjah Warriorz), Ibrahim Zadran (Gulf Giants) and Romario Shepherd (MI Emirates).
England’s all rounder Gus Atkinson of Sharjah Warriorz comes back in the action as he played for the Vipers in season 1 of the tournament. The right arm fast bowler took 34 wickets in 6 matches of the English summer in 2024. Son of a gun Tom Curran is one such player who will turn out for season 1 champions Gulf Giants.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders who participated in the Eliminator in season 2 are now ready to embark on season 3 with a bang. Further they have been strengthened by West Indies players Roston Chase and a left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie. This year, both Chase and Motie played for the team that hosted the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup which was won by the West Indies along with some noteworthy individual performance.
Their recruits also include the emerging afghan spinner Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, US all rounder Hassan Khan (fleet admires former pakistan U19 captain) and terrance hinds the westindian medium pacer.
Season one diagrams finalists Desert Vipers have managed to add a number of novel scouters across the compact. Pakistan’s opener, Fakhar, performed exceptionally in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 and also played for the national squad in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. New zealander pacer Lockie Ferguson brings genuine pace to the attack of Vipers in season 3.
Along with them are English players Dan Lawrence, Max Holden (Dubai Capitals – Season 2) and David Payne who are the other three Vipers signings for Season 3.
As Dubai Capitals, the season 2 finalists, head into season 3 they are looking strong on paper. Shai hope, the West indies wicketkeeper batter beefs up the batting depth. Hope plays in red ball cricket matches for West Indies. He record career is impressive in ODIs – 124 matches, 16 centuries - 50.26 strike rate. Hope also played in the side in ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2024.
Among other new signings include leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay who was one of the star players for Sri Lanka in their last ODI series against India, Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib, West Indian fast bowler Obed McCoy, Australia’s who is eligible to play for Italy Joe Burns.
The winners of the inaugural season Gulf Giants have added the prolific Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran in their Season 3 squad.
The giants were also able to finalize the signings of England fast bowler Tymal Mills, Irish pacer Mark Adair, Afghanistan’s Wahidullah Zadran, England curran cricket top order batsman Adam Lyth and Curran in the course of season 3 signings for the giants.
The defending champions MI Emirates have reinforced their already solid squad by securing the services of the West Indian all-rounder Romario Shepherd, who, besides being an excellent fast bowler, can easily clear the boundary in T20 matches. Among the other new players of MI Emirates are the England wicketkeeper batter Tom Banton (Gulf Giants
Season 1, Dubai Capitals Season 2) and the Afghanistan left-arm pacer Fareed Ahmad.
The Sharjah Warriorz have enrolled new players like the English international Jason Roy among others building a star-studded team for
Season 3. The inclusion of the Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade further strengthens the squad.
Other teams can also add/remove or make changes to their players after approval from the ILT20 Technical Committee. In addition to this, they will also have a chance to sign more UAE based players which will be added after the drizzle of the DP World ILT20 Development Tournament next month.
