The GCC is gearing up to launch the unified tourist visa system by the end of 2024, facilitating seamless travel across member countries. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Authority (SCTDA) announced the imminent implementation during the Arabian Travel Market, emphasizing the pivotal role of e-services in streamlining the process.

The unified visa, dubbed GCC Grand Tours, will allow tourists to explore multiple destinations within the six-member GCC for more than 30 days, enhancing convenience and affordability. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE’s Minister of Economy, highlighted the significance of this initiative in promoting the region's diverse tourism offerings and attracting longer stays from both regional and international visitors.

In preparation for the launch, efforts are underway to develop comprehensive tour packages that encompass the entire GCC region. Collaboration between government entities and private sector stakeholders is crucial in formulating these packages, which will cater to both leisure and business travelers. Partnerships with hotels, airlines, and tour operators aim to create seamless travel experiences and maximize the potential of the unified visa system.

Furthermore, discussions are ongoing to align major events across the GCC, ensuring optimal timing and preventing scheduling conflicts. This strategic coordination will enhance the appeal of the region as a premier tourist destination and facilitate the seamless integration of diverse cultural and recreational experiences.

Sarah Buhijji, CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, affirmed Bahrain's commitment to promoting the GCC as a unified tourist destination. Through partnerships and collaborative initiatives with neighboring countries, Bahrain aims to offer integrated travel packages that showcase the region's rich heritage and attractions.

As the GCC prepares to unveil its unified tourist visa system, stakeholders are optimistic about the positive impact it will have on regional economies and tourism sectors. By fostering closer cooperation and synergy among member states, the GCC Grand Tours initiative is poised to elevate the region's profile as a top-tier destination for discerning travelers worldwide.
