UAE: When is Eid Al Adha? Likely first day of Dhul Hijjah revealed

In a few days, we will celebrate Eid Al Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifice. It is observed every year on the ninth day of Dhu Al Hijjah, following the pilgrimage.
The Islamic calendar runs on a lunar basis which means other holidays and events in the Islamic world change with the moon's position. With the help of astronomical calculations, it has now been possible to predict some dates. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, known for his work in astronomy, has also been able to predict the date of the festival.
The chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society along with being a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences has remarked that the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah is most likely to be May 28, 2025. Hence, Eid Al Adha will now based on astrological calculations would be June 6, 2025.
Harwan further explains that the new moon of Dhu Al Hijjah will become visible on the 27th of may at seven am in the UAE. not only that, the moon will be above the horizon until sunset for 38 minutes. So, this means it is a forty eight minute window where the moon is visible.
He did mention, though, that the proclamation of public holiday observance is done by the concerned bodies in relation to the tenets of Islam.
