Dubai KHDA releases new school calendar; full list of 2025 holidays revealed
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has posted the academic calendar for the 2025-2026 school year marking significant terms and holiday dates for private schools in Dubai.
As per the calendar that was published on Monday, classes will begin on August 25, 2025, after the students have a two month holiday. Winter holidays will commence on the 15th of December and students are expected to return by the 5th of January 2026 after the three week break.
Spring break is planned to start on March 23 and is expected that most schools will start again on April 6. Schools that follow MoE’s curriculum will start a week later on April 13.
There is a variation on end dates of the year depending on the curriculum followed. Schools with international and British curriculum have to remain open until at least June 26, 2026. Indian schools follow on March 31, 2026 marking an official end to the term for them, though they start their term in April.
As mentioned by KHDA, this will give children a more precise academic clock for achieving new challenges. In total this reflects a minimum of 182 days of classes in the year which showcases Khda’s growing efforts on upholding instructional standards and learning time.
The revised calendar is relevant for all private schools in Dubai which commences their academic sessions in August. The calendar is intended to assist schools, teachers, and families plan more effectively for the coming year.
