During the holy month of Ramadan an uplifting display of humility occurred when the UAE President stopped to greet his childhood professor at a gathering earlier this week.

Professor Ahmed Ibrahim Mandi Al Tamimi experienced an unexpected moment when Sheikh Mohamed stood up from the other side of the room and walked through all attendees to greet his teacher after recognizing him.

A video shared by Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan shows the UAE President greeting his teacher with an embrace and conversation before sitting down again. Through this caption the official explained how elders teach us daily lessons.

During the gathering Sheikh Mohammed received both the Federal National Council delegation along with several officials and guests.

The leader has met his teacher before on multiple occasions. Sheikh Mohamed visited Al Tamimi at his home in Khalifa City in 2017 and displayed affection by holding his teacher's hand while laughing together.

During last year's World Teacher's Day in October the nation's leader expressed gratitude to teachers for their steadfast service to the nation while acknowledging their work.

World Teachers' Day provides an occasion to celebrate how teachers nurture the next generation while inspiring young students. Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the UAE's educational foundation by acknowledging that teachers stand at the core of this vision while expressing gratitude for their selfless service to our nation on October 5.

The Ruler recognized educators and education as essential to national success by naming February 28 as Emirati Day for Education in 2024. The date marks when the UAE's Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan attended the graduation ceremony of UAE University's first teacher cohort in 1982.
