UAE Pass mandatory to access Mohre services from October 18
According to a media advisory received on Thursday, starting from October 18, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) will mandate the use of the UAE Pass to log in for its services.
Login procedures involving usernames and passwords, will no longer be utilized as a means of authentication in this digital identity ecosystem. The UAE Pass is an electronic identity card for residents and citizens of UAE that helps them in easy access and usage of several governmental services.
Mohre’s actions are consistent with the wider trend in the UAE of focusing on the improvement of online service provision through increased digitalisation and security.
The ministry’s platforms, which are accessed through the website, application and other online modes, serve as a one-stop-shop for employers in need of handling a spectrum of employment-related processes.
These consist of issuance and abolition of work permits and relevant documents such as employment contracts, and other legal papers required by workers in different industries. Also, the employers of househelpers make use of these sites to process important documents as well.
Likewise, other services provided through the site of the ministry include the registration of absconding employees as one of the employment services offered by the ministry.
