In a recent event hosted by the UAE Cybersecurity Council and KPMG Lower Gulf, Dr. Al Kuwaiti highlighted the importance of preparing for the UAE's centennial in 2071 by leveraging technology to optimize outcomes for society.

Established in November 2020, the UAE Cybersecurity Council was formed to address the increasing global cybersecurity threats and attacks. It plays a vital role in developing legislation to enhance cybersecurity, subject to Cabinet approval.

A report jointly released by the Cybersecurity Council and KPMG suggests that immersive virtual reality and artificial intelligence will significantly impact daily life and business operations in the future. The report envisions a world where robots seamlessly integrate into various aspects of life, and AI can predict and shape the future.

However, with these technological advancements come potential risks. The report warns of the possibility of machines reading human thoughts and manipulating DNA.

By 2071, the quality of life and happiness will depend on a safe and secure hybrid of the physical and digital worlds. To prepare for this future, the UAE must adapt its cybersecurity legislation accordingly.

As the global population is expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, and climate change and energy concerns continue to grow, the UAE recognizes the need for diligent work to mitigate these challenges. Technological innovations, including AI, quantum computing, robotics, and renewable energy, offer hope for a brighter future.

In summary, the UAE's ambitious 50-year cybersecurity vision aims to enhance its digital defenses and prepare for the technological advancements and challenges that lie ahead. This long-term strategy reflects the country's commitment to cybersecurity and its role in shaping a secure digital future.
