Nearly seven times the price, tickets for the much awaited India-Pakistan clash in the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 have found their way in black markets. General admission tickets, which initially cost Dh500, are being advertised on Facebook Marketplace and other classifieds for as much as Dh3,500.

Thousands of cricket fans waited in the online queue on Monday to grab tickets only to find out they had already been sold off within the hour. Those same tickets are now being resold at outrageous prices.

Abdul Kareem, a cricket fan from Sharjah who tried for but failed to obtain a ticket via the official website, said, "I wanted to experience the game live and be part of this historic evening but wasn't able to buy the ticket."

I refreshed the page for hours, wanting to get a ticket. But by the time it was my turn, they had all disappeared. I now see resellers asking for Dh3,500 or more. You know, it is really frustrating he said.

Kareem said, "When I told him that I was willing to pay Dh200 for more than what he was selling it, he lost it and asked if I knew the worth of this match
But now, a lot of fans that could not get their hands on tickets are searching for a way to watch the game live on their screens.

Another cricket lover, Harish Das, said he was disappointed to see the inflated prices at the resale market.

I even saved Dh500 to purchase a ticket, but no I can never find more than Dh1,000 for this match. He said: "These matches feel like they are priced for people who can pay ridiculous prices."

In Dubai, the price of the ticket is also very much compared to that of India. Das said: “The last of option is to view the match on screen.

Soaring demand

India-Pakistan clashes are one of the most anticipated matches in cricket and ticket demand has been soaring.

Over 50 calls asking for tickets since yesterday. One reseller said, "a lot of people are haggling, but are still up for it at three times the price."He continued: "Given the interest and popularity for this match, ticket prices can go up even higher closer to the match date."

A different reseller, who owns tickets for every other game in the UAE, is providing to promote them in wholesale portions for Dh6,000 apiece. According to him, there was high demand of buyers ready to pay a good amount for multiple games such as India vs Pakistan, India vs Bangladesh, India vs New Zealand, and both semifinals.

Fewer tickets are available for all video games, no longer simply India-Pakistan," Chakraborty stated Tuesday. Bulk prices are fairly inexpensive given the demand compared to rates for a single match ticket and negotiations are still continuing, he said.

Tickets for the match, scheduled for February 23, at the Dubai International Stadium, sold out during the official sale, but sky-high resale prices have quickly dampened the excitement for fans who were unable to score tickets.
