UAE-India flights: Airline increases free extra check-in baggage limit to 30kg

Air India Express announced on Tuesday that it doubled free checked baggage allowance from 15 to 30 kilograms for flights between UAE and other Middle Eastern and international destinations.
The airline flies to UAE emirates while providing 7kg of authorized personal items for carry-on.
Air India Express lets passengers bring two items of hand luggage free of charge provided their combined weight stays below 7kg. According to the airline's policy guests may bring one small bag that fits under the seat and includes laptop bags or handbags.
Family travelers who bring infants get extra 10kg of free check-in space on top of their existing 47kg baggage allowance which includes 7kg cabin baggage.
Many people from both India and UAE use this air route because millions of travelers pass through it every year.
Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport shows Dubai leads all international destinations with 16% of passengers while Abu Dhabi comes third with 7%.
Under Tata Group ownership Air India Express runs 450 flights a week to connect 19 Indian cities with 13 destinations in the Middle East. The airline now operates 400 daily departures showing a 30 percent increase in its flight schedule compared to one year ago.
The airline wants to expand its flight network to reach 50 cities including Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand plus more flights to Middle East destinations like Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Muscat and Ras al-Khaimah. The airline's quick expansion happens because it keeps adding planes to its fleet which will total 100 this year.
